Professional Photographer – Sharon Byrne

Photography has always been part of my story. Now I’d love to help tell yours.

Hi, I’m Sharon — a portrait, headshot and personal branding photographer based in the Meath countryside, just outside Kilcock and only 30 minutes from Dublin.

Photography is in my blood — and I mean that literally. My father, Kevin “Dickie” Byrne, was a well-known photographer in Ireland, and my brother, Darren Byrne, is a multi-award-winning photographer too. I grew up with cameras around me, and what began as childhood curiosity has become a career I genuinely love.

My studio is a relaxed space for portraits of every kind — and professional headshots are a particular specialism — alongside warm family, couple and individual sessions. I do corporate work on location too: I’ve photographed the team at CapCon Engineering in Maynooth, as well as studio sessions for people who just want a portrait that captures their ‘best side’.

Here’s what most of my clients say when they walk in: “I hate having my photo taken.” Honestly? You’re my favourite kind of person to work with. My studio is private, calm and unhurried, and every session is gently guided — so you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands. No stiff posing, no forced smiles. Just relaxed direction, a bit of chat (and a cup of tea), until we land on images you’re genuinely happy to put your name to.

I also photograph families, children and the occasional wedding — with the same relaxed, no-fuss approach!
